I wanted to play with the Panasonic GF1 video. Yes I could have reviewed the flash in text but I thought it would be a nice video review of the quality of the GF1 Black and White Dynamic video. Put together quickly in iMovie and using only the on board microphone of the camera.

Great video review Neil; thanks.
If you're looking for cheap non-TTL flashes, I can recommend the Yongnuo YN-460 II. I use it myself together with their CRT-301P radio remotes, and it works great. Battery door is a bit on the flimsy side, but if you know this and take a bit care, it's wonderful. Never failed on any try.
A bit better, and not much more than that Lumopro would be a Metz 50, or its predecessor 48. They *do* speak TTL with all major cameras including Olympus / Panasonic, and they also are able to fast-sync just like the original flashes. So you'll get great power and reliability for much less money than from original vendors. Metz has a long tradition, and used to be a real big name before camera makers even started to think about flashes.
I measured my Yongnuo, and it seems to be at around 6000K. Cannot say much about variation tho, since I have only one so far.
cheers,
Wolfgang
Good suggestions Wolfgang. I'm going to be sticking to manufacturer flashes from now on I think. If I need to put a flash at risk I've finally figured out I can just put it inside a plastic ziploc bag. Or I can use the Lumopro and just pray it works. I had considered the Metz flashes before, but we have 6 different flashes right now so I think we are really well covered though I had never heard of Yongnuo, I'll have to look them up.
