It's coming. PMA is coming. I've been glued to my computer as usual trolling the rumours. Thought I should do something productive on a lazy Sunday though and played with some off camera lighting. Gelled an off camera flash tungsten, placed it on the notebook computer keys pointed at a piece of white paper taped on the screen. Fired it with the Olympus E3 remote system that uses the on camera flash to send the signal to the off camera flash. It worked well even though the flash was hidden. I love the haunted look, directional lighting and dark sky through the window.
I've been using Kelby Training online. Bought myself a membership last month as a treat and I've been enjoying it very much. Thought I would send out a recommendation for it. I was initially unsure as I didn't know if it would be worth the price. I ended up getting a discount so took the plunge and I'm glad I did. If you are having a hard time getting out to training in person it is a pretty good substitute. Give it a try.
As far as in person training goes, I've signed up for Image Explorations this summer in Shawnigan Lake. I can't wait for it, as I've been registered for a really great wedding photography course that has me very jazzed. There is nothing like relaxing with a group of photographers, building on your skills and developing your craft.
